Where did they understood the anointed ones would be before the "great crowd" "revelation"?
by paradisebeauty inthis is a question on old doctrine of jw's.
before they came up with the "great crowd" "revelation", where did they preached that the anointed ones will be?
because if they preached it will be in heaven, how did they understood that the prophecies about the earth will be fulfilled?

From the practically incoherent book The Finished Mystery, a commentary on the Book of Revelation and a compilation of Charles Russell's teachings after he died, page 134*:
7:9. After this, I beheld, and lo, a great multitude.—
When the Apostle tells us In 2 John 8, "Look to yourselves
that ye lose not those things which we have wrought, but
that ye receive a full reward," he Is teaching that a
Heavenly reward may be gained that is not as full as If a
course more pleasing to the Heavenly Father Is pursued.
Instead of teaching that the saved of our race will all be
saved to the same thing, the. Scriptures show two degrees
or kinds of Heavenly salvation, and two degrees or kinds
of earthly salvation. In the second chapter of Genesis the
stream which went forth from the Garden of Eden was
divided Into four parts. This is a Scriptural recognition
of the fact that from Adam, the original fountain of life,
will flow four streams: The Little Flock, who are to sit
down with Christ In His Throne; the Great Company, who
are to stand before the Throne, having the palms of
martyrdom but without the crowns of glory; the Ancient
Worthies, the Jewish fathers, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob,
Daniel, etc., who are to be made princes in all the earth;
and the world of mankind, who will constitute the subjects
of the Kingdom over which the Ancient Worthies will
rule. The same lesson Is taught in the division of the
Levltes into four camps, each located on a different side
of the Tabernacle. (Num. 3:15; F128, 129.) It Is also
taught In the Apostle's statement In 2 Tim. 2:20, that In
God's great House there will ultimately be found four
classes of vessels to His praise.
*Note: If you find a PDF of The Finished Mystery use the scripture cited in Revelation as a guide instead of page numbers as the numbers differ in different versions of the book.

Need Help with Blood Transfusion Illustration
by Dissonant15 inplease, who can provide an intelligent rebuttal to the following illustration?
i always thought it was bullet-proof:.
"if your doctor directs you to 'abstain from alcohol' would you be ok to have it injected into your veins rather than drink it?

Actually, the blood/alcohol analogy is correct as far as consuming any substance by needle or by mouth. There's nothing you can say against that specific argument. The only argument against the blood transfusion issue in general, as Saintbertholdt mentioned, is that the blood was only disposed of if the animal was killed for food. If the creature, animal or human, was not killed then it would not apply and blood could be drunk or transfused.
I'm not too comfortable with that argument but it's the only one that may help. A smart JW, however, might counter that argument by asking if it's right to drink human blood even if the person contributing it did not die.
You have to keep in mind that some doctrines in the Bible simply cannot be argued against without arguing against the Bible itself.

Heaven:
"The interesting part of all of this is how Botchtower handles their errors. They certainly don't man up to them but rather, repeatedly, blame their members."
They did make a mock apology around 1980 (One of the yearbooks?) saying that they were responsible for some of the issue. Later they went back to denial and blaming the publishers.

Today I learned - I'm incapable of having a relationship
by Garrett inhello my dear friends,.
while this post may not be entirely witness related, i figured i'd write out my thoughts here as a form of release and reflection.. recently, a lot has changed in my life.
i'm away from home for the first time in a long while training to get certified in a field i'm not even sure i want to work in anymore.

Sounds like me. I've brushed off good women in and out of the JWs (I'm marriage oriented at heart) who have approached me for a date or taken an interest in me. It's a combination of shyness, insecurity and, as you said self sabotage. Never dated a woman in my life and I'm not Gay or Bi. My problems existed regardless of the Witnesses but they made it worse with their oppressive atmosphere.

This sounds suspiciously like the actions of another religion we know of...
by Captain Schmideo2 inhttp://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/09/15/church-blacklists-103-year-old-granny-then-calls-the-cops-on-her.htmlchurch blacklists 103-year-old granny, then calls the cops on her.
genora hamm biggs had been a member of the union grove baptist church for 92 yearsuntil a new pastor banished her and tried to have her arrested over a clash about the style of a sermon.. a 103-year-old georgia woman was banished from her church for a sin the pastor cant forgiveshe disagreed with how he preached.. genora hamm biggs has attended union grove baptist church in elberton since she was 11 years old.
but last month, rev.

Perry:
On closer examination, this doesn't resemble JW's closed door disfellowshipping at all.
Maybe not closed door but the pastor was manipulative nonetheless.
Looks like she had a vendetta against the pastor and tried to disrupt the congregation services on several occasions.
I realize that a b!tch might use her age to excuse her actions but I perceive her more as a determined, feisty old gal.
The members voted unanimously (while she was present) to cancel her membership.
I must have missed that in the OP but what exactly did they vote her out for? Not liking her Pastor's sermon styles? Disagreeing that he had the Church's best interests at heart?
